In 1998 "Sigma Solutions" was established as a division of and integral part of Smailes Goldie. We operate from the same premises on Freetown Way and can therefore easily call on the general experience and skills within the practice whenever required to compliment the service we provide.
As a chartered accountancy practice, Smailes Goldie has always provided a complete range of services to its clients. Historically these services tended to revolve mainly around year end audit and compliance work together with associated tax planning and advice. In addition to still benefiting from these services, many businesses today are also finding it efficient and cost effective to outsource to us some or all of their ongoing book-keeping and regular accountancy work instead doing this "in-house". The purpose behind establishing "Sigma Solutions" as a separate division within the practice was to bring together a team of professionals dedicated purely to providing this outsourcing service.
We provide a service which enables businesses within the SME sector to benefit from the quality of regular management information sometimes only available to larger organisations, without incurring the cost of employing their own full time staff to fulfil this need. Our services include forecasts and business plans, book-keeping, VAT, credit control, payroll and preparation of regular management accounts.
Whilst most of our clients also have Smailes Goldie as their auditors, some do not. They find it efficient for us to concentrate on the outsourcing services above in which we specialise, and to retain their existing auditors to provide the year end audit and tax service. With us producing regular management accounts for them, our clients not only have accurate information to help them control their business, but can also enjoy significant savings on year end charges from their existing auditors as little or no accountancy work is required from them.
